I read Doomsday Book and To Say Nothing Of The Dog (both by Connie Willis) last week. DB broke my heart in a bunch of pieces and TSNotD made me laugh so much so it pretty much evened out. Both were excellent. ♥♥♥

I reread Steel Ball Run also because stopongreen's been reading it and we've been screaming about it at each other on LINE for a while and god I forgot how emotional the story is. And I ended up actually like full on weeping at my desk through the last part, even though it was a reread.


But these two make me so happy, tears or not. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I KNOWWWW. YES. A huge part of Johnny's growth wasn't his being able to walk again but him being able to really trust and love someone again. After his brother died, I honestly don't think that Johnny really loved/trusted anyone, thanks to what his father did to him. And the time he spent with Gyro finally got him to trust/love/believe in someone again, since they lived and breathed and did everything together and both were willing to die for each other and wanted to help the other reach their goals gheugsldkfjlsdfk. Like Gyro really saved Johnny's life in pretty much every possible way. ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

And I loved how his goals kept changing, from finding the secret of the steel balls, attaining corpse, and just simply stopping Valentine's ambitions. BUT UGHHHH
