I saw The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and Elysium last week. I already knew I'd love DoS and I did: every minute was amazing (even all the time-stretching padding lmao), I really loved Tauriel (and honestly found her little thing with Kili cute), Lee Pace's Thranduil is so WONDERFUL, all the needlessly there Legolas action scenes made me so happy, Bard was adorable, and Smaug himself was gloriously dragon-y.

Elysium was...enjoyable. I liked it a lot, but feel like I would really have loved it a lot more if it was a sci-fi short story that I read instead of a film. The movie's writing could have been a bit better. Or tighter. I think I enjoyed it more than it is an actually great movie.
