THIS IS A STORY I'D LIKE TO HEAR. Going from a thug (who was well-known apparently) to join the Recon Corps IS ONE HELL OF A CAREER CHANGE. LIKE IT'S WEIRD AS FUCK. And it's hilarious how there are like a million theories about Levi's past. Having Petra mention a tiny bit of it (IF WHAT SHE SAID HAS ANY TRUTH. I CAN IMAGINE ERWIN SPREADING AROUND A FAKE STORY...FOR WHATEVER REASON.) along with Levi's lack of a last name provides pretty ripe grounds for the imagination to go wild.

The lack of a last name could just be a...thing that doesn't mean anything but almost everyone else has in-story given last names (AND GIVEN ISAYAMA'S TRACK RECORD WITH WEIRD THINGS ACTUALLY BEING WEIRD) I would guess it could be important. The obvious guess, I think, is that he's related to someone we know or someone we'll meet but idk idk.
