HOLY SHIT PACING. I honestly thought that the episode would end with Kiritsugu confronting Kayneth, and then the contract, Lancer/Kayneth/Sola's death, the Saber/Kiritsugu conversation next week.

Kirei's monologue, walking back to the church, was shortened (which I hope will be added in next week because it's important character building stuff) and another one of his scenes was moved to next week (it's something that can't be cut) BUT SHIT MAN. THIS WAS SOME FAST PACING. Which annoys me a bit because it's hard to get the full emotional impact across if you're just rushing through all the scenes.

I don't know if it's Nakata Jouji's intense delivery or Kirei sounding like he just discovered sexual arousal BUT I GIGGLED. A LOT.

NOOO DADDY KOTOMINE. WE....DIDN'T REALLY KNOW YOU. Also he's like eighty years old holy shit. Anyways Kayneth/Sola/Lancer's deaths was something I was looking forward to seeing but knew it would be really hard for me to watch. It was one of the most painful parts of the novels for me to get through. Although part of that is that CUTTING OFF PEOPLE'S LIMBS freaks me out and the rest is with how heartbreakingly unfair Lancer's end was.

KAYNETH BULLYING LANCER. HOW DARE YOU. ALSO WHY ARE YOU A TEACHER EHGUEGHUGH. BECAUSE KAYNETH IS CLEARLY ENJOYING THE BULLYING.

I was moved, though, with how much Kayneth wanted to save Sola. From what I can understand, they had an arranged sort of engagement and she never seemed that into him (but then again we didn't really get to see what Sola was like before meeting Lancer, so maybe she was) BUT I GUESS IT'S NICE THAT HE LIKES HER. I GUESS. MAYBE.
